2018 Recommendation for Modification of Undergraduate Representation on the Commission
March 21, 2018
TO: President Tony Frank
FROM: Zinta Byrne on behalf of the President’s Commission on Women and Gender Equity
SUBJECT: Recommendation for Modification of Undergraduate Representation on the President’s Commission
Recommendation
We recommend the representation of Undergraduates on the Commission for Women and Gender Equity be modified to support/include two undergraduate representative positions with two-year terms on an alternating basis starting Fall of 2018, such that one representative is always present at every meeting.
Background
In the past, the Commission has often struggled to find undergraduate student representatives to fill a three-year term. Given the nature of an undergraduate’s life, there are multiple occasions, such as internships or studying abroad, that arise preventing participation in the Commission’s activities, despite interest or desire.
Promotes the Mission and Goal of the Commission
The recommendation above enables the Commission to fully represent the concerns of the Undergraduate student body and, in doing so, the Commission will be able to make CSU a better place to study and work.
