SUBJECT: Task Force on the Status of Women
DATE: July 1, 1994
I am pleased to appoint you to serve on the Task Force on the Status of Women at Colorado State. I continue to believe that the work of this task force will be extremely important to Colorado State University in our continuing efforts to enhance diversity on campus and foster a climate in which all members of the University Community can thrive. As stated in an earlier memo to faculty and staff members, the primary goal of this effort will be to identify top priority issues for women faculty, staff and students and to make recommendations to me to address these issues. Findings and recommendations will then be considered within the normal decision-making process of the institution, in collaboration with appropriate governance groups.
The criteria used for selection of members included clearly stated reasons for serving, past involvement in women’s issues, research skills and diverse perspectives. Your strengths in these areas and commitment to Colorado State University will be tremendous assets in helping the task force achieve its goals.
Marilyn Maskell-Pretz, Chair of the Faculty Women’s Caucus has agreed to serve as an ex-officio member of the task force and has offered to convene the initial meeting of the group. You will be receiving further details from her in the near future.
Thank you for volunteering your time and energy to this important endeavor.
